Writing your own website with Claude Code or Codex also starts at US$20 a month, but hosting, domains, forms, a blog admin, SEO and maintenance after launch are all on you. This article compares the cost, time and performance of both approaches and tells you who each one suits.

In plain words, SEO means making sure Google and AI can find and understand your website. C Building handles the technical setup automatically when you publish, and the website AI checks your site, reads your search data and suggests changes, so you can focus on writing good content.

Domains bought through Shopify or Netlify can't have their nameservers pointed elsewhere. To connect C Building, add the records C Building lists in that platform's DNS settings; for C Building to manage the DNS fully, transfer the domain out once 60 days have passed since purchase, transfer-in or a contact change. Tencent Cloud domains may refuse C Building's nameservers: try, and add the records if it doesn't work.
Guide / C BUILDING
If another account started hosting your domain's DNS but never changed the nameservers to C Building's, click "This is my domain, take it back", add a `_cbuilding-reclaim` TXT record at the DNS your domain uses now, and click "Check". Then continue the setup. If the other setup is already active, contact support.
Guide / C BUILDING
On your website's Domains & publishing page, click "Let C Building manage DNS", bring your current DNS records over and confirm them, then click Start hosting. Change the nameservers at your registrar to ns1–ns4.cbuilding.net within 3 days; your website connects automatically once they take effect.
Guide / C BUILDING
Nameservers decide which DNS provider answers for your domain. Point them to C Building's ns1–ns4.cbuilding.net and you can change your website, email and other DNS records right in C Building, or have the AI do it. The domain itself stays registered where it is.
Guide / C BUILDING
"Set up with Cloudflare" depends on where your domain's DNS (nameservers) is, not where you registered it: a domain bought at GoDaddy with its DNS on Cloudflare works too. Approve access once, C Building adds the website records in your Cloudflare account, and the access is revoked right after. Not the owner, or it isn't working? Add the records by hand.
Guide / C BUILDING
Sign in to HiNet domain registration, open 「更新DNS主機」 (update DNS hosts) → 「編輯」 (edit), remove the HiNet hosts, enter ns1.cbuilding.net to ns4.cbuilding.net (at least two, no IP needed), and click 「送出」 (submit). Chunghwa Telecom says worldwide DNS sync takes 2 to 24 hours.
Guide / C BUILDING
PChome: sign in to 「管理我的網址」 (manage my domains), click 〔進入〕 (enter) next to the domain, choose 「DNS自管」 (self-managed DNS) and enter ns1.cbuilding.net to ns4.cbuilding.net; the IP field can stay empty. Net-Chinese: 「域名管理」 → your domain → 「DNS」 → 「DNS主機設定」 → 「DNS自管」, then enter at least two host names with IP addresses.
Guide / C BUILDING
Namecheap: Domain List → Manage → Nameservers → Custom DNS. Squarespace (including former Google Domains): the domain's DNS → Domain Nameservers → Use Custom Nameservers; it turns off DNSSEC and disconnects the domain from your Squarespace site. Wix: Manage DNS records → Use custom nameservers; it takes exactly two, and Wix's DNS records stop working.
Guide / C BUILDING
In GoDaddy, sign in to your Domain Portfolio, select the domain to open Domain Settings, then choose DNS → Nameservers. Pick "I'll use my own nameservers", enter ns1.cbuilding.net to ns4.cbuilding.net, and click Save, then Continue. GoDaddy says most updates take effect within an hour, and up to 48 hours.
Guide / C BUILDING
Check three things before changing nameservers: your email records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) are in the list of records brought over; DNSSEC is turned off at your registrar (the DS record removed); and registrar extras such as URL forwarding or email forwarding have a replacement. Miss one and your website or email can stop working.

Many small businesses leave Wix because you can't switch templates or move a Wix site elsewhere, and designing every page takes time. Seven alternatives: C Building (AI builds the site), Squarespace (design), Shopify (selling), WordPress.com (plugins), Strikingly (one-page sites), Canva Websites and Google Sites (free).
Guide / C BUILDING
WordPress is free software, but you pay for hosting and themes and handle plugin updates, backups and security yourself; it suits sites that need many plugins. An AI website builder has a fixed price (C Building Basic is $20 a month billed yearly), includes hosting and updates, and builds a first version in minutes.

A restaurant website should show your menu, prices, hours, address and how to book within seconds, matching your Google Business Profile. Most need 4–6 pages: home, menu, about, location and hours, and reservations. Take bookings with a request form or link to a reservation system such as OpenTable, Resy or Tock.

Wix has 900+ free templates, a free plan and an AI website builder, with paid plans from $17 a month billed yearly and a free first-year domain. Before you commit: you can't switch templates once a site is created, you can't move a Wix site off Wix, and the cheapest plan can't take payments.

A freelancer typically charges $2,000–$8,000 for a small-business website, plus $50–$200 a month for maintenance. Building it yourself with an AI website builder costs about $250 in the first year with a domain, and you make changes yourself. Hire help for custom features or a full brand project.
Guide / C BUILDING
A small business website should tell people who you are, earn their trust and help them reach you. Most need 5–8 pages: home, about, services, work, prices, FAQ, and contact. Build it with an AI website builder in minutes, lay it out yourself on a template builder, or hire a freelancer for about $2,000–$8,000.
Guide / C BUILDING
Choose C Building if you want AI to build the whole site and then edit it by chat or click. Choose Wix for an online store, time-slot bookings, many templates and a lower price: Wix Light is $17 a month billed yearly with a free first-year domain, C Building Basic $20 with the domain bought separately.
Guide / C BUILDING
Most AI website builders now generate a whole site from a short description; the differences are how you edit afterwards, the price with your own domain, and renewal costs. For editing it yourself: C Building, Wix, Strikingly. For design: Squarespace, Framer. For WordPress: 10Web. For custom apps: Lovable.
Guide / C BUILDING
A studio website should show your work, make prices clear and get people booked. You need a home page, portfolio, services and prices, an about page, a booking policy, and contact details. Take bookings by message, with a request form, or through a scheduling tool such as Calendly, Acuity or Square Appointments.
Guide / C BUILDING
Building a website with an AI website builder costs $0 to start, and $20–$25 a month on your own domain with C Building's Basic plan, plus $10–$23 a year for a .com.
