When you connect a domain, C Building first looks at where the domain's DNS is, that is, its nameservers. You add the records wherever the DNS is, which isn't necessarily where you bought the domain. For example, a domain bought at Netway with its DNS on Cloudflare gets its records at Cloudflare.
The records to add (type, name, value) are the ones listed on the card when you connect the domain, so this guide gives no fixed values. Use the record types exactly as the card shows them; if a name already has an old record, edit or delete it first, then add what the card lists.
When this guide applies
Only when the domain's nameservers end in netwaygroup.com (for example ns1.netwaygroup.com to ns4.netwaygroup.com) or are ns1.netway.co.th and ns2.netway.co.th (Netway's DNS). If they belong to another company, add the records there.
Adding the records at Netway
- Sign in to Netway's client area (netway.co.th/clientarea).
- Go to "Services" → "Domain", select the gear icon next to your domain and choose "Show details".
- Open "DNS Management".
- If an old record with the same name exists, change it to the card's value with "Edit" (then "Submit") or remove it with "Delete" (then "OK").
- For each other record on the card, pick its type under "Add New Record", select "Add", fill in "Name", "TTL" and "Content", then select "Submit".
Good to know
- Changes affect your website and e-mail right away, so check each record before saving. If you're unsure, Netway suggests asking its support staff first.
- If your domain is not in "DNS Management", its DNS may be on a Netway hosting server; ask Netway support.
How long it takes
Netway says changes take effect right away for your website and e-mail; its guide gives no other waiting time.
These steps follow Netway's official help: วิธี Update DNS Records ด้วยตนเอง (how to update DNS records yourself).
Once the records are in, C Building checks them automatically. There's no need to come back and let us know.
Want C Building to manage your DNS? Change the nameservers
Adding the records above is enough to connect your website; you don't need to change the nameservers. Only if you choose to let C Building manage this domain's DNS, change its nameservers to ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net (as the card lists them).
Before you do, your e-mail records at Netway (such as MX and TXT) have to move too, or your e-mail may stop arriving. Read Before you change nameservers: e-mail and DNSSEC first.
- Sign in to Netway's client area.
- Go to "Dashboard" → "Domain", select the gear icon next to your domain and choose "Manage Domain".
- On "Domain Details", select "Manage Nameservers" near the bottom.
- Replace the nameservers with ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net, and save.
- Netway e-mails you to confirm the change (subject "Client nameserver for domain …"); reply to that e-mail.
It takes about 2 to 24 hours; don't change the nameservers again while you wait.
