Connect your domain to C Building: add DNS records at PChome

The short version

If your domain's nameservers are *.cyberdns.tw, open "管理我的網址" (Manage my domains) at PChome 買網址, select "進入" (Enter) next to the domain, then "PChome代管DNS", fill in "類型", "主機/次網域" and "地址" as the card shows and select "送出" (Submit). Leave the host empty for "@" and end a CNAME value with a dot. PChome says changes take 24 to 48 hours.

When you connect a domain, C Building first looks at where the domain's DNS is, that is, its nameservers. You add the records wherever the DNS is, which isn't necessarily where you bought the domain. For example, a domain bought at PChome with its DNS on Cloudflare gets its records at Cloudflare.

The records to add (type, name, value) are the ones listed on the card when you connect the domain, so this guide gives no fixed values. Use the record types exactly as the card shows them; if a name already has an old record, edit or delete it first, then add what the card lists.

When this guide applies

Only when the domain's nameservers are *.cyberdns.tw, such as ns1.cyberdns.tw and ns2.cyberdns.tw (PChome's hosted DNS). If they belong to another company, add the records there.

Adding the records at PChome

PChome's domain service, PChome 買網址, is in Chinese only. The labels below are written as they appear on screen, with their meaning in brackets.

  1. Sign in to PChome 買網址 and open "管理我的網址" (Manage my domains).
  2. Select "進入" (Enter) on the right of your domain.
  3. Choose "PChome代管DNS" (PChome-hosted DNS).
  4. For each record on the card, choose its type in "類型" (Type), put its name in "主機/次網域" (Host/subdomain) and its value in "地址" (Address), then select "送出" (Submit).

Things to know

  • For a record named "@" (the domain itself), leave "主機/次網域" (Host/subdomain) empty; for www, type "www".
  • A CNAME value must end with a dot ("."). If the value on the card doesn't end with one, add it when you type it in.

How long it takes

PChome says DNS changes take 24 to 48 hours to take effect everywhere.

Once the records are in, C Building checks them automatically. There's no need to come back and let us know.
