When you connect a domain, C Building first looks at where the domain's DNS is, that is, its nameservers. You add the records wherever the DNS is, which isn't necessarily where you bought the domain. For example, a domain bought at Mắt Bão with its DNS on Cloudflare gets its records at Cloudflare (see add DNS records at Cloudflare).
The records to add (type, name, value) are the ones listed on the card when you connect the domain, so this guide gives no fixed values. Use the record types exactly as the card shows them; if a name already has an old record, edit or delete it first, then add what the card lists.
When this guide applies
Only when the domain's nameservers belong to Mắt Bão: ns1.matbao.com and ns2.matbao.com, or ns1.matbao.vn and ns2.matbao.vn.
If the nameservers belong to another company, records added at Mắt Bão have no effect: add them where those nameservers are managed.
Adding the records at Mắt Bão
- Sign in at id.matbao.net with your Mắt Bão account (it now opens manage.matbao.net).
- Go to "Tên miền" (Domains) → "Quản lý tên miền" (Manage domains) and select your domain.
- Under "Quản trị tên miền" (Domain administration), open the "Bản ghi DNS" (DNS records) tab and select "Tạo bản ghi" (Create record).
- For each record on the card, choose its type in "Loại" (Type) as the card shows (for example "A", "CNAME (Alias)" or "TXT"), enter "Host" and "Giá trị" (Value), keep the default "Mặc định TTL" (Default TTL), and select "Thêm bản ghi" (Add record).
- If asked, select "Xác thực OTP" (OTP verification) and enter the code sent by text message or e-mail.
Good to know
- In "Host", type only the short name such as "@" or "www", not the full domain.
- If a host on the card already has an old record (for example an A record for @ or a record for www), edit it in the list and select "Lưu" (Save), or delete it, so only the new values remain.
- An OTP code is valid for 10 minutes; if it expires, just ask for a new one.
How long it takes
Mắt Bão's help pages don't say how long new records take (the "up to 24 hours" they mention is for changing nameservers).
Once the records are in, C Building checks them automatically. There's no need to come back and let us know.
Want C Building to manage your DNS? Change the nameservers
You don't have to do this: adding the records above is enough to connect the domain. Only if you want C Building to manage the domain's whole DNS do you change the nameservers at Mắt Bão to ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net (as listed on the card).
Before you do: once the nameservers change, every record kept at Mắt Bão stops working, including the MX and TXT records your e-mail needs. Move the e-mail records to C Building as well, or mail may stop arriving. See Before you change nameservers: email records, DNSSEC and registrar extras first.
- Sign in at id.matbao.net.
- Go to "Tên miền" (Domains) → "Quản lý tên miền" (Manage domains) and select "Chi tiết dịch vụ" (Service details) for your domain.
- Under Name Server, choose "DNS tùy chỉnh" (Custom DNS) instead of "Sử dụng DNS Pro Mắt Bão" (Use Mắt Bão DNS Pro).
- Enter each nameserver on the C Building card and save.
- If asked, enter the OTP code sent by text message or e-mail.
Records kept at Mắt Bão stop working after the change; write down your e-mail records (MX, TXT) first. It can take up to 24 hours.
Another Mắt Bão article calls the option "Sử dụng Name Servers tùy chỉnh" (Use custom name servers); it is the same option.
Sources: these steps follow Mắt Bão's own help pages (checked October 2026): Managing DNS records, A records, CNAME records, TXT records, OTP when changing DNS settings, Changing nameservers at id.matbao.net, Managing domains at Mắt Bão. Control panels change from time to time; if a button is worded slightly differently, go by what you see on screen.
