C Building vs Wix: Which Should a Small Business Choose in 2026?

C Building and Wix both let you build a website with AI, and both have a free plan. They start from different ideas, though: Wix is a full-featured website builder where AI is one way to begin; C Building is built around AI, so people who don't design still get a complete site, and keep editing it by chat or by click.

Price: Wix is cheaper, but count your time

On price alone, Wix Light costs less than C Building. The difference is how the site gets made: on Wix you choose a template and arrange it yourself, or generate a site with AI and then adjust it in the drag-and-drop editor; on C Building the AI builds the whole site from your description and you change only what you want different. What your time is worth decides which is the better deal.

Also note that Wix Light can't accept payments or run a store; you need Core ($29 a month billed yearly) or above for that.

How each builds a site

C Building: describe your business, AI builds the whole site

1. Describe what you do, who your customers are and the style you like, in everyday language.
2. The AI proposes which pages the site should have; you confirm before it builds.
3. A few minutes later you have a complete website with layout, copy and images.
4. Preview it at desktop, tablet and phone sizes, then publish.

Wix: a template, or AI

Wix offers two routes: start from one of its templates and replace the content, or use the Wix AI website builder to generate a site through chat. Afterwards you switch between the Aria AI agent and the drag-and-drop editor. Wix Harmony, its new AI editor, launched in January 2026.

How you edit after launch

The edits a small business makes most often are prices, photos, opening hours and a new service.

• C Building: click the text on the page and type; or tell the AI "change the haircut price to $45 and add a treatment at the bottom of the price list", and it does it. If an edit goes wrong, restore an earlier version from the history.
• Wix: find the element in the drag-and-drop editor and change it, or ask Aria. The editor gives you a lot of freedom; note that Aria currently works only when editing the desktop view (Wix help center).

What Wix can do and C Building can't

To be fair, these are worth knowing before you choose:

• Online store and payments: C Building has no shopping cart or online payments.
• Booking system: C Building has a booking-request form but no calendar where customers pick a time slot; Wix has built-in booking tools.
• Templates: Wix has a large library to choose from; C Building has no template library and generates each site from your description.
• A free first-year domain: included on Wix's annual plans; on C Building you buy the domain separately.
• Visitor analytics: C Building has no built-in visitor statistics yet.

If any of these matters to you, Wix is the better choice.

Wix frustrations C Building solves

• No template switching: Wix's help center says you can't switch a created site to a different template. On C Building you change the look by adjusting brand colors and fonts, or by telling the AI what feel you want.
• No time to design: instead of filling in a template section by section, the AI builds the whole site.
• Locked in: a Wix site can't be exported to another host. Moving to C Building starts from your existing site's address.

How to choose

Moving from Wix to C Building

1. In C Building, enter your Wix site's address to build a new site based on it.
2. Check each page to make sure the content came across, update photos and prices, and preview on a phone.
3. Upgrade to a paid plan and point your domain to the new site.
4. Once the new site is working, turn off auto-renewal on your Wix plan.

If your domain was bought through Wix, transfer it or point it elsewhere first. The Wix site itself can't be exported, but your text and photos are yours.

Which is cheaper, C Building or Wix?

On subscription price, Wix: Light is $17 a month billed yearly, with a free first-year domain; C Building Basic is $20 a month billed yearly, with the domain bought separately. But Wix Light can't take payments, and on C Building the AI builds the whole site, which saves your design time.

Can I sell online with C Building?
