When you connect a domain, C Building first looks at where the domain's DNS is, that is, its nameservers. You add the records wherever the DNS is, which isn't necessarily where you bought the domain. For example, a domain bought at DomaiNesia with its DNS on Cloudflare gets its records at Cloudflare.
The records to add (type, name, value) are the ones listed on the card when you connect the domain, so this guide gives no fixed values. Use the record types exactly as the card shows them; if a name already has an old record, edit or delete it first, then add what the card lists.
When this guide applies
Only when the domain's nameservers are dns1.domainesia.com to dns4.domainesia.com (DomaiNesia's default DNS, "Use Default Nameservers"). If they belong to another company, add the records there.
If the domain uses DomaiNesia's hosting nameservers ns1.domainesia.net and ns2.domainesia.net, add the records in the hosting control panel instead; the steps below don't apply.
Adding the records at DomaiNesia
- Sign in to MyDomaiNesia at my.domainesia.com (the account you bought the domain with, not cPanel).
- Open "Domains" and select your domain under "My Domains".
- Choose "DNS Management" from the "Manage" menu.
- Select "Add New Record" for each record on the card: enter its "Host Name" ("@" for the domain itself), choose its type, and put its value in "Value".
- Select "Save Changes".
Good to know
- Before adding, clear the old A and CNAME records of the hosts on the card (such as "@" and "www"), so those hosts point only to the new values.
How long it takes
DomaiNesia says it usually takes a few minutes to a few hours.
These steps follow DomaiNesia's official help: Cara Koneksi Google Workspace ke Domain (connecting Google Workspace to a domain), Cara Menghubungkan Domain ke VPS (how to connect a domain to a VPS).
Once the records are in, C Building checks them automatically. There's no need to come back and let us know.
Want C Building to manage your DNS? Change the nameservers
Adding the records above is enough to connect your website; you don't need to change the nameservers. Only if you choose to let C Building manage this domain's DNS, change its nameservers to ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net (as the card lists them).
Before you do, your e-mail records at DomaiNesia (such as MX and TXT) have to move too, or your e-mail may stop arriving. Read Before you change nameservers: e-mail and DNSSEC first.
- Sign in to MyDomaiNesia at my.domainesia.com.
- Select "Domains" on the left, then your domain.
- Open the "Nameserver" tab.
- Choose "Use Custom Nameservers" and enter ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net.
- Select "Change Nameservers".
To change several domains at once, tick them under "Domains" and choose "Manage Nameservers".
It usually takes 24 to 48 hours.
