Connect your domain to C Building: add DNS records at IDCloudHost

The short version

If your domain's nameservers are bromo.cloudhost.id and rinjani.cloudhost.id, sign in at my.idcloudhost.com, go to "Domains" → "DNS Management", select the pencil icon next to your domain, add each record from the card with "Add Record", then select "Save Changes". It can take up to 48 hours.

When you connect a domain, C Building first looks at where the domain's DNS is, that is, its nameservers. You add the records wherever the DNS is, which isn't necessarily where you bought the domain. For example, a domain bought at IDCloudHost with its DNS on Cloudflare gets its records at Cloudflare.

The records to add (type, name, value) are the ones listed on the card when you connect the domain, so this guide gives no fixed values. Use the record types exactly as the card shows them; if a name already has an old record, edit or delete it first, then add what the card lists.

When this guide applies

Only when the domain's nameservers are bromo.cloudhost.id and rinjani.cloudhost.id (IDCloudHost's default DNS). If they belong to another company, add the records there.

If the domain uses ns01.cloudhost.id and ns02.cloudhost.id (IDCloudHost's cPanel hosting), add the records in cPanel instead; the steps below don't apply.

Adding the records at IDCloudHost

  1. Sign in at my.idcloudhost.com.
  2. Select "Domains" → "DNS Management".
  3. Select the pencil icon next to your domain.
  4. Select "Add Record" for each record on the card: choose its "Type", enter its "Name" ("@" for the domain itself) and put its value in "RDATA".
  5. Select "Add Record" to add it, and once they're all in, select "Save Changes".

Good to know

  • These steps work only while the domain uses IDCloudHost's default nameservers (bromo and rinjani.cloudhost.id). If changes in "DNS Management" seem to do nothing, check the nameservers first.

How long it takes

IDCloudHost says it can take up to 48 hours.

These steps follow IDCloudHost's official help: Tutorial Mengarahkan Domain ke Server VPS / Dedicated Server (pointing a domain to a VPS or dedicated server), Cara Mengarahkan Domain ke Server VPS / Dedicated Server (how to point a domain to a VPS or dedicated server).

Once the records are in, C Building checks them automatically. There's no need to come back and let us know.

Want C Building to manage your DNS? Change the nameservers

Adding the records above is enough to connect your website; you don't need to change the nameservers. Only if you choose to let C Building manage this domain's DNS, change its nameservers to ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net (as the card lists them).

Before you do, your e-mail records at IDCloudHost (such as MX and TXT) have to move too, or your e-mail may stop arriving. Read Before you change nameservers: e-mail and DNSSEC first.

  1. Sign in at my.idcloudhost.com.
  2. Select "Domain".
  3. Select the down arrow next to your domain and choose "Manage NameServer".
  4. Choose "Custom nameserver" and enter ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net.
  5. Select "Change Nameservers".

It takes up to 24 hours.

These steps follow IDCloudHost's official help: Cara Mengubah Nameserver pada Domain (how to change a domain's nameservers).
