Want to See a Plan Before AI Builds Your Website? Here's How

The short version

Describe your website in C Building and the AI starts building right away; you can follow each step in the project's chat and ask for changes at any time. If you'd rather see a plan before anything is built, ask the C Building Assistant in your account: it outlines the title, pages and look in the chat, adjusts them with you, and builds when you say go.

Describe your business, press a button, get a website. That is the promise of AI website builders, and it mostly holds. But there is a gap in it: if the AI misunderstands you, you only find out after the whole site is built.

C Building gives you two ways to catch it early: watch the AI build step by step and correct it as it goes, or ask for a plan before anything is built. (When this feature launched, every build showed a plan first. Since October 2026 the Create website screen no longer shows one; you ask the C Building Assistant when you want a plan.)

How a build starts now

In your website list, click Create website, then pick Build a new website, or just type what you want. Answer a few questions or describe your business, and the AI starts building the first draft right away. You can watch each step in the project's chat and ask for changes as it goes. The same page also lets you start from a template or with a blank website.

If you want a plan first

Prefer to see a plan before anything is built? Ask the C Building Assistant in your account to build the site for you. It first replies in the chat with a short plan:

  • The site's title, the name it will use across the pages.
  • The pages it will make, such as home, about, services, menu or contact.
  • A visual direction: the look and feel it intends to use.
  • What it assumed: the things you didn't mention that it decided for now.

Read it like a brief from a designer. If it calls your yoga studio a gym, gives you five pages when you need two, or reaches for a dark, dramatic look when you want something light and calm, say so now. It changes the plan when you ask and only starts building once you say go.

Why a plan first

A sentence is cheaper to fix than a website. Changing "a gym" to "a small yoga studio" in a plan takes a second. Changing it after the site is built means reworking copy, photos and pages.

It saves your points. AI work is charged in points by usage, and so is the time your website's editing environment runs. Catching a misunderstanding before the build means you don't spend points building the wrong site.

It shows what the AI understood. Your description is in your words; the plan is the AI's reading of it. Seeing the two side by side is the quickest way to spot what you forgot to mention.

If you already know what you want, you don't need a plan: describe the site on the Create website screen and the AI starts building right away, or tell the C Building Assistant to build straight from your description.

Writing a description that makes a good plan

The more specific the description, the better the plan. Include:

  1. Your industry and what you actually offer: "a family-run noodle shop with six dishes and takeaway", not just "a restaurant".
  2. Your business name.
  3. Your main services or products, and anything that sets you apart.
  4. The tone and colours you like: warm and friendly, calm and clinical, bold and modern.
  5. The pages you need: home, about, services, menu, contact, bookings.

Descriptions that ask to copy a well-known brand's website exactly are refused. Describe the style you like instead: "clean and minimal, lots of white space, one accent colour".

Once the build starts

When you say go (or as soon as you describe the site, if you didn't ask for a plan), the AI builds it in the new project's chat. You can follow its progress and checklist there, and ask for changes as it goes.

When the first version is ready, you keep shaping it the two usual ways: tell the AI what to change, or click anything on the page and change it yourself.

Wrapping up

A good website starts with the AI understanding your business. If you want to check that it does, in a few lines, before a single page is built, ask the C Building Assistant for a plan first. You can try it free, with no credit card and no time limit.
