Meet the Assistant: Help Right on Your Projects Page

The short version

C Building's assistant lives on your projects page. Ask it how to do something, what your plan includes, how many points you have left or how a build is going. When you ask, it can also create or move a website, publish, take a site offline, roll back and restore versions, and it passes content changes to the website's own AI. It checks with you first before deleting a website or touching domains and DNS.

Most questions about a website tool are small and urgent. How do I connect my domain? How many points do I have left? Is my new site finished yet? Searching a help centre for each one breaks your flow.

So C Building has an assistant on your projects page. You ask in your own words, and it answers from what C Building actually does, and from your own account.

What you can ask

  • How to do something. "How do I put my site on my own domain?" "Where do I see messages from my contact form?" It explains the steps and where to find them.
  • What your plan includes. "What does my plan include?" "How many points do I have left?" It checks your plan and usage, so the numbers are yours, not an example.
  • Where things stand. "Which websites do I have?" "Is the café site finished building?" It lists your websites and how their builds are going.
  • Take me there. It can open a project for you.

It can start a new website for you

The assistant can also help you plan and create a new website. Describe what you want, even in one line, or give it your current website's address to move that site here: a WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace or Webflow site you own, kept as it is with the same addresses or given a new look.

It usually sketches a short plan first: the pages, the look and anything it assumed. You can ask for changes. When you ask it to build, it creates the website right away, with no separate confirmation step, and the website's AI then builds it in that project's chat in a few minutes.

What else it can do, and when it asks first

When you ask, the assistant can also act on your websites. It can:

  • Publish a website, take it offline, or roll it back to an earlier published version.
  • Restore a saved version, restore a deleted website, or rename one.
  • Create a new website or copy an existing one.
  • Pass content changes to the website's own AI, which makes them in that website's editor chat. The assistant doesn't edit pages or files itself.

It checks with you first before deleting a website, connecting or removing a domain, or changing DNS. Paying for upgrades and domains stays with you. Every content change goes through the website's AI in the editor, where you can see exactly what changes and undo it if needed.

How it counts

Chatting with the assistant uses points by usage, the same as chatting with the AI in the editor: each AI turn uses at most 50 points, and the assistant's own environment uses about 10 points an hour while it works on your requests. See how points work.

Why we built it this way

Why does it ask before some actions but not others?

Deleting a website, connecting a domain and changing DNS are hard to take back, or can leave visitors unable to reach your site, so it checks with you first. Publishing, rolling back and restoring go ahead when you ask, because you can always go back to an earlier version.

Why doesn't it ask again before building a website?

Because you asked it to build. Building a site uses points, for the AI's work and for the time the website's editing environment runs, so the assistant usually shows you its plan first, including what it assumed. If you want something different, say so before you ask it to build.

How does it know the answer?

It answers from C Building's own product guidance and from your account's plan, usage and projects, not from general knowledge about other tools.

Wrapping up

Questions about your website should take seconds, not a search. Ask the assistant on your projects page; when you ask, it can do the work too, and it checks with you before anything that is hard to undo.
